Historical perspectives: Baby Jesus was breastfed...

December 23, 2014
Interesting that all the holiday cards and pictures that are out there, do not portray the bond between the mother, Mary and (breastfeeding) infant, Jesus.  My guess is that Jesus was certainly NOT a bottle baby? As a matter of fact, all of the historical pictures on file depict just the opposite!  Jesus was a breastfed baby, and, what a great man he was!

Read more in this interesting article about this historical perspective, as it relates to breastfeeding, and more about "what happened to Mary's breasts"?

There is no greater gift than the birth of a new child!  Perhaps you will experience this joy of beginning a new life this holiday season, or be able to share in another family's celebration?  Many of us will reflect back on the births of our own children and other loved ones, and some may be mourning the loss of a child or family member.  My hope for you all, is peace, joy and happiness into the new year.  We will celebrate life at the Aspen Birth Center and rememeber those who have experienced loss and grief.
Blessings to all in 2015!
