In honor of Sandy Homes' retirement and last day at AVH, we will be having a party theme. How can you celebrate and still follow a whole-food plant-based diet? Come to the recipe swap on WEDNESDAY, July 3 and find out!

Bring a favorite whole food, plant-based (WFPB) recipe to share, or just come to learn some new recipes. Come try something tasty and new and join a community of healthy eaters!

What is plant-based?
Plant-based, or whole food, plant-based (WFPB), is based on nutrient rich foods from plant sources, minimally processed, without added oils or chemical additives. It includes vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, some nuts and seeds.

Why plant-based?
Evidence supports it leads to: healthier weight, lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, prevention or reversal of heart disease, reduced risk of diabetes and cancer, reduced symptoms of arthritis and autoimmune diseases, good for the environment and animal welfare.
