If you are a local member of the Roaring Fork Valley community, and you have:

  1. COVID-19 symptoms, or
  2. You are asymptomatic and directed by Pitkin County Public Health to get tested due to a close exposure, 
There is a new testing option for you in the midvalley. The COVID Testing Site operated by Aspen Valley Primary Care is open Wednesday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:00 noon next to the Midvalley Health Institute building in Basalt.

LOCATION: Midvalley Health Institute parking lot at 1460 East Valley Road, Basalt, CO 81621
HOURS OF OPERATION: Wednesday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:00 noon

  • Make an appointment online, then drive up at your appointment time and get tested.
  • Complete the online questionnaire. You will be asked a series of questions whem making your appointment.
  • There is no cost to the patient for the test.
  • No insurance necessary. Tests are provided whether or not you have insurance.
  • No testing will be performed for individuals who have travel-related needs.
  • Results are typically processed within 48 hours.

Special Advisory Regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Pitkin County Community Coronavirus Hotline is available for general questions and concerns about the coronavirus. Please call 970-429-6186. The hotline is staffed daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. 

If you have symptoms including cough, fever and shortness of breath, and need help managing your symptoms, call Aspen Valley Primary Care at 970-279-4111. Your physician can refer you to Aspen Valley Hospital's respiratory tent for an in-person visit and further evaluation or testing. If you are over 60 and have underlying conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes, contact your doctor to discuss your risk.

  • If you do not have a primary care physician, call Aspen Valley Primary Care at 970-279-4111.
  • If you experience severe respiratory distress and/or need immediate attention, present to AVH's emergency department or call 9-1-1 and let them know you are concerned you may have COVID-19.
