Our Mission

To deliver extraordinary healthcare in an environment of excellence, compassion, and trust.

Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH) is a twenty-five bed community hospital that represents the best of two worlds – the warmth and friendliness of a small town, and the technical expertise of a major medical center.
In fact, AVH is the first Colorado hospital to be selected as a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network after passing a rigorous review process based on quality, service, and operational criteria.  Through the Mayo Clinic Care Network, local physicians have Mayo Clinic expertise at their fingertips: eConsults, treatment recommendations, the latest research, and access to some of the best medical knowledge in the world – right here at home.

Aspen Valley Hospital has been recognized with numerous awards for patient satisfaction, most recently being named "Best Performer, Overall Rating" for small hospitals, based on HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) results. In addition, Medicare awarded AVH a "five-star" rating, along with only three other Colorado hospitals (in Durango, Steamboat Springs, and Lakewood).  Finally, Aspen Valley Hospital merited a "Top 20 Best Practice in Financial Stability" designation from the National Rural Health Association for critical access hospitals in the U.S.
Although orthopaedics and sports medicine are a primary focus of AVH, a full range of services is offered.  With board-certified specialists in twenty-five different fields of medicine, we are prepared to care for a broad range of medical issues.
AVH is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is also designated a Critical Access Hospital and Level III Trauma Center.
