This month's theme will be fresh seasonal dishes for summer days! We'll include colorful salads, summer veggies and tips for safe barbecuing.

In the hot summer months, we enjoy spending time outdoors. It seems only natural that we'd nourish ourselves with nature's finest plant-based, whole foods.
We will be discussing:
Safe grilling techniques 
Cool summer salads
Camping with plants
Navigating teh Farmer's Markets and CSA's

Bring your favorite fresh, summer, plant-based recipe, a sample dish to taste or just yourself. Join a community of healthy eaters! 


What is plant-based?
Plant-based, or whole food, plant-based (WFPB), is based on nutrient rich foods from plant sources, minimally processed, without added oils or chemical additives. It includes vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, some nuts and seeds.

Why plant-based?
Evidence supports it leads to: healthier weight, lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, prevention or reversal of heart disease, reduced risk of diabetes and cancer, reduced symptoms of arthritis and autoimmune diseases, good for the environment and animal welfare.
