Let's start the conversation and reduce the risk of opioid use.
Join Aspen Valley Hospital and Pitkin County for a community conversation about the opioid crisis. While Pitkin County ranks low for opioid-related risk factors, our community has double the statewide average of prescriptions for long-duration opioids. This event will highlight opioid reduction strategies and other innovative ideas to combat the opioid crisis in our community and in our homes.
The program includes guest speakers and subject matter experts on the topics of:
- The Opioid Crisis Overview with Dr. Robert Valuck, Director of the Colorado Consortium of Prescription Drug Abuse
- What's Happening in our Community with Dr. Kimberly Levin, Aspen Valley Hospital Physician
- Naloxone (also known as Narcan) Demonstration
- Panel Discussion with Dr. Robert Valuck, Dr. Kimberly Levin, Dr. Kelly Locke, Alyssa Franklin, Pharmacy Directory at Aspen Valley Hospital and Sheriff Joe DiSalvo
Presentations will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with a panel of subject matter experts so you can get your questions answered. In addition, several doses of Naloxone (contributed by Mind Springs Heath) will be available for distribution to participants on a first come, first served basis.
Snacks and light refreshments will be served.
