As we age, cataracts become very common, with more than half of people 80-years or older having cataracts or having had surgery to remove them, according to the National Eye Institute. Aspen Valley Hospital is pleased to be one of the only medical centers in the Mountain West to offer implantable light adjustable lenses in cataract surgery. Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL®) by RxSight is an advanced cataract surgery technology that allows for extremely precise custom vision correction in the clinic following surgery. Ophthalmologists can fine-tune vision to each patient’s lifestyle after the lenses are implanted.
In addition to adjustable lenses, Aspen Valley Hospital also offers multifocal lenses, which are designed to correct myopia, hyperopia, and presbyopia, as well as toric lenses, ideal for patients being treated for both cataracts and astigmatism.
The skin along our eyelids is much thinner than on other parts of our face. This can result in eyelids being the first facial area to exhibit signs of aging, as well as drooping or sagging. Drooping or sagging eyelids are not only a cosmetic concern; they can hinder eyesight and impair vision. Aspen Valley Hospital offers both functional and cosmetic blepharoplasty surgery – a plastic surgery procedure that corrects this condition.
