Dave Ressler, Chief Executive Officer

Dave has over 30 years of healthcare experience with 20+ years as a hospital administrator (nine at Aspen Valley Hospital). Dave was AVH's CEO from 2004 - 2013, returning to the position in the fall of 2016. In 2013, Dave moved to Tucson, Arizona where he was Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Tucson Medical Center, a 600-bed tertiary hospital. Then, prior to returning to AVH, he was the Executive Director of a newly-formed management company, the Community Care Alliance (CCA), that formed two Accountable Care Organizations through Western Healthcare Alliance.  During his tenure with the CCA, Dave worked with dozens of rural hospitals in Colorado, California, and Washington, gaining an abundance of knowledge about the best path for small hospitals in a changing healthcare industry.

Elaine Gerson, Chief Transformation Officer

Elaine was a clinical RN, working in the ICU and establishing the cardiology clinic, starting in 2000. She won a seat on the board of directors in 2002 and served in that capacity until 2004 when she moved into an administrative role. She was legal counsel, chief clinical officer, and compliance officer for many years. Now, as Chief Transformation Officer, she is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated system of care that can perform effectively in a value-based reimbursement environment. She continues to serve as legal counsel for the hospital. Elaine holds a bachelor's degree in nursing, a master's in business administration, and a juris doctorate with an emphasis on healthcare law.

Terry Collins, Chief Financial Officer

Terry joined the Aspen Valley Hospital executive team in 2004 following an extensive career in healthcare finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and accounting and a master’s degree in business administration. He has worked at hospitals ranging from small rural facilities to large tertiary medical centers. He is currently a faculty member in the Graduate School of Business at the University of Utah. Terry has overseen the following areas within the hospital: accounting, information technology, billing, medical records, engineering, security, materials management, admitting/registration, housekeeping, treasury, and the assisted living facility. At Aspen Valley Hospital, he led a turnaround that made the hospital one of the most financially successful small hospitals in the country.
 

Eric Stahl, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Stahl is an orthopaedic surgeon and was a physician leader with the Panorama Orthopaedic Group and OrthoColorado Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado before joining the AVH team in 2013. He has extensive leadership, physician, and hospital governance experience. Dr. Stahl is originally from France, where he spent time in Aspen’s Sister City Chamonix, and he was a member of the French ski team. Dr. Stahl assists Aspen Valley Hospital’s medical staff in fulfilling their board-delegated responsibilities for the provision of quality care. He supervises employed and contracted physicians as a member of the executive team.

Alicia Miller, Director of Human Resources

Alicia joined Aspen Valley Hospital in 2002 and was named Director of Human Resources in 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, is certified as a senior professional in human resources, and has a master’s of science degree in organizational leadership (MSOL). She chairs the Western Healthcare Alliance HR peer network group and has served on a variety of community task forces regarding employee housing, wellness, transportation, and childcare capacity. Alicia interacts with Aspen Valley Hospital’s 400+ managers and employees on a variety of human resource issues and is responsible for implementing the following HR programs: compensation/benefits, performance management, employee health and wellness, staff and leadership development, recruitment and retention, employee relations, and orientation.

Deborah Breen, President & CEO, Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation

Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She joined the AVH executive team in January of 2013 as President & CEO of the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation which was formed in June 2012. Prior to that appointment, Deborah was the executive director of Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation in Rhinebeck, New York and associate director of development for The Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Deborah's focus is on encouraging philanthropic support by matching the needs of the organization with the donors’ interests. Deborah also works with a dedicated board of directors including like-minded individuals who help bring the foundation’s and hospital’s message to the community.
 

Ginette Sebenaler, Associate Chief Financial Officer

Ginette was promoted to Associate CFO in February of 2016. She had been the hospital's controller since 2004 and is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the finance department. Prior to coming to AVH, Ginette worked for two multinational corporations in the accounting field for seven years. She had also been the CFO for two privately held companies in the valley. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is also certified by the Healthcare Financial Management Association as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional. As Associate CFO, she oversees the functions of the finance department, admissions/registration, billing, engineering, environmental services, medical records and the assisted living facility.

Lori Maloy, RN, Chief Clinical Officer

Lori began her career at Aspen Valley Hospital in 2008, overseeing a number of different clinical departments over the years: emergency, outpatient clinics, oncology/infusion, cardiopulmonary diagnostics, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes education, Snowmass Clinic, and After-Hours Medical Care. In December 2014, she became the director of quality and patient safety, leading and directing all quality management activities including patient care outcomes, safety, and performance improvement. Promoted to Chief Clinical Officer in June 2016, Lori has responsibility for all clinical functions within the hospital. She holds a master's of science degree in nursing management and leadership.

Jennifer Slaughter, Director of Community Relations

Jennifer joined Aspen Valley Hospital’s executive team in 2017, building on 17 years of experience managing communications for top tier brands and building strong relationships within the Aspen community. Prior to joining Aspen Valley Hospital, Jennifer owned and operated her own marketing firm, making a positive impact for national brands and Aspen area nonprofits. Jennifer’s work has received national recognition for excellence. In her role as Director of Community Relations, Jennifer determines strategy and implements internal and external communications and branding efforts. She also oversees the hospital’s extensive and dedicated volunteer staff.
